How to Connect Sage 100 Contractor to Followup CRM
How to Set Up the Sage 100 Connector in Followup
In this article, you'll learn how to prepare Sage 100 Contractor, install the Followup connector on your network, and connect it in Followup CRM with your specialist.
📘 Overview
Followup CRM can sync projects (jobs), companies (clients), and contacts with Sage 100 Contractor using Followup’s direct connector — a small Windows program that runs on a machine that can reach your Sage database.
This is Followup’s own connection path (not a third-party browser login to Sage SQL). Your Followup Onboarding Specialist will join you for pairing and field mapping.
This article covers:
- ✅ What to prepare before the call
- 🛡️ Approving Followup in Sage
- 💻 Installing the connector
- 🔗 Pairing with Followup
- 🗺️ Mapping fields and testing
Note: If your account uses a different Sage 100 path (for example an older or alternate integration), your specialist will tell you. Follow the path they confirm.
📦 Before you start
You’ll need:
- Admin access in Followup
- A Windows machine that can reach your Sage 100 SQL Server
- A Sage administrator to approve Followup’s connector app name
- Your Followup Onboarding Specialist on the setup call
Your Followup team may also send a field-mapping worksheet for the call.
🛡️ Step 1: Approve Followup in Sage
Sage only allows approved applications to connect.
- Open Sage Database Administration.
- Go to Advanced Settings → Advanced SQL Server Settings.
- Approve the application name:
FollowupCRM.Connector. - Save.
Without this step, the connector cannot reach Sage even if the software installs.
💻 Step 2: Install the Followup connector
- On a Windows PC that can reach Sage SQL, install the FollowupCRM Connector using the installer your specialist provides.
- Complete setup and confirm the Windows service is running.
The connector talks out from your network to Followup. Followup does not store your Sage SQL password in the cloud.
💡 Windows may show a publisher/SmartScreen warning on some builds. Your specialist will confirm whether that is expected for your installer.
🔗 Step 3: Pair with Followup (on the call)
Usually completed with your Followup specialist.
- In Followup, go to Company Settings → ERP Integration.
- Open Sage 100 Contractor.
- Click Connect.
- Generate a pairing code.
- Enter the code in the connector setup window on the Windows machine before it expires.
- Wait until Followup shows the connector as connected and displays the correct Sage company name.
✅ If the company name looks wrong, stop and tell your specialist before continuing.
🗺️ Step 4: Map fields and test
On the call:
- Open Map Fields for Sage 100.
- Map standard job/project and client/company fields (and contacts).
- Call out any custom or special fields.
- Push a test company and/or project and confirm it in Sage.
- Turn on ongoing import/sync only when your specialist says you’re ready.
Day-to-day, you’ll use the familiar Sage 100 Options on companies and projects (push, update, sync) once you’re live.
