How to Map Project IDs Between Followup CRM and Sage Intacct

Learn how to configure and control how project IDs sync between Followup CRM and Sage Intacct — whether they’re auto-generated or matched.

  1. Open the Projects Module in Sage Intacct
Go to your Projects module and open your field mapping settings.
⚙️ This is where you’ll define how project IDs sync between systems.

  2. Select the Project ID Field
From the field list, choose Project ID in Sage Intacct.
🔢 You’ll see options to map it to Followup CRM’s Project ID or set it to Auto-Generate.

  3. Choose a Mapping Option

    1. Project ID (Followup) → Sage Intacct uses the Followup ID.

    2. Auto-Generate → Sage Intacct creates the next available ID.

  4. Set the Direction of Sync
The arrows indicate how data flows between systems:

    1. ➡️ One-way (Followup → Sage Intacct) — Sage auto-generates its own ID, while Followup keeps its internal one.

    2. 🔁 Two-way — Sage Intacct’s generated ID will sync back and replace the Followup CRM ID.

  5. Save Your Configuration
Once saved, the system applies these rules for all new project pushes.

  6. Push a Project to Test the Mapping
Open a project in Followup CRM and push it to Sage Intacct.

    1. If auto-generate (one-way) is set: Sage will create a new ID (e.g., TEMPLATE-PM42), and Followup keeps its ID (e.g., 306).

    2. If two-way sync is set: Sage’s ID replaces Followup’s ID, keeping both systems aligned.
