How to Set Project Documents Permissions

In this article, I’ll show you the new granular permissions for the Documents section within projects. You’ll see how administrators can now control whether a user can view, upload/edit, or delete documents and folders directly in the project area.

 

 

  1. ⚙️ Open User Permissions

    • Go to the Object section when customizing permissions for a user.

  2. 📄 Locate the “Documents” Permission

    • Scroll to the bottom to find the Documents permission setting.

  3. 📝 Assign Access Levels

    • 👁️ View only: User can see the Documents section but cannot upload or delete.

    • 📤 View & Edit: User can upload documents in this section.

    • 🗑️ View, Edit & Delete: User can upload and delete documents or folders in the section.

  4. 💾 Save Changes

    • Click Save or Apply to ensure the updated permissions take effect.

Result: 🎯 This lets you restrict and define exactly how each user interacts with the Documents section of a project.
