A multi-series bar chart allows you to visualize a single numerical value across multiple categories, making it easier to compare data within a single chart. Follow the steps below to create and customize a multi-series bar chart in your custom report.
Step 1: Add a Multi-Series Bar Chart
- Go to the Custom Reports tab and select a new or existing report.
- Click Add Chart and choose Multi-Series Bar Chart from the available chart types.
Step 2: Select Data Categories
- Choose the value you want to measure. In this example, we’ll use Base Bid.
- Select the categories to break the value down by. For this example, we’ll choose:
- Bid Date for the X-axis
- Sales Status for the series (represented by different bars within each date).
Step 3: Visualize the Data
- The Y-axis will display the Base Bid values, while the X-axis shows the Bid Dates.
- The Sales Statuses are broken out as different colored bars, each representing a different status.
Step 4: Customize the Chart
- You can adjust the color scheme to make the chart easier to view or match your preferences.
- Choose the chart style:
- Clustered Bars: Sales statuses are shown as individual bars within each category.
- Stacked Bars: The bars for each sales status are stacked on top of each other within the same category, forming a single column.
- Select the style that best represents your data for clear comparison.
Step 5: Save and Add to Canvas
- Once satisfied with the chart, click Save to add it to your report canvas.
- You can add multiple charts to the same canvas for a more comprehensive report.
