With our custom reporting feature, you can easily build tailored reports by selecting data sets, creating charts, and customizing their appearance. Follow the steps below to create a new custom report and publish it to your dashboard.

 

Step 1: Create a New Report

  1. Navigate to the Custom Reports tab.
  2. Click on Create New Report.
  3. Choose either a blank report or a pre-made template.
  4. Name your report and click Create.

Step 2: Add Data to Your Canvas

  1. You'll start with a blank canvas. This space is where you’ll add charts and visual elements.
  2. On the right side, you’ll see a list of pre-made data sets—these include data like project comments, change orders, and quotas.
  3. Drag and drop a data set onto the canvas, or click Add Chart to create a new one from scratch.

Step 3: Customize Your Chart

  1. Select a chart type (e.g., pie chart, bar chart).
  2. Choose the data for the X and Y axes by selecting values and categories.
    • Values represent numerical data (e.g., contract amounts).
    • Categories are text or date fields (e.g., client type, contract date).
  3. Customize the chart’s appearance by editing colors, styles, and fonts.

Step 4: Apply Filters

You can apply filters to focus on specific data points:

  1. Click on the Filter button.
  2. Select the data you want to display (e.g., filter by client type or contract date).
  3. Click Apply to update your chart with the filtered data.

Step 5: Add More Charts or Panels

  1. Add additional charts or summary panels to your report by repeating the above steps.
  2. You can place as many charts and panels on the canvas as needed to build out your report.

Step 6: Publish the Report

  1. Once you’re satisfied with the report, click Save.
  2. To share the report, click Publish.
  3. Your report will now be available to view on the Dashboard.

Step 7: View and Apply the Report on Your Dashboard

  1. Go to your Dashboard.
  2. Use the filters on the dashboard to select the report you just created.
  3. Apply the relevant filters to display your custom report.
